GMA was contracted to provide the external team leader for this Appraisal. The programme focuses on state institution building, human rights (including the women and child rights, child soldiers, gender-based violence and female genital mutilation, and the rights of internally displaced persons), and private sector development.

GMA was contracted to provide a Team Leader / Judicial Reform Expert, Organisational Development Specialist, and Civic Education Specialist to assist the Judicial Service of Ghana to implement their aspects of the Right to Services and Good Governance Programme. Included development of a three-year civic education / communication strategy, anti-corruption strategy for the Judiciary, management training, support to development of Gender-Based Violence Courts, activities to reduce the number of awaiting trial prisoners and speed up criminal and civil trials, and enhanced monitoring and evaluation.

GMA provided the senior international Justice Sector. The MTR focused only on Component 1.2 (Judicial Service) where support focused on judicial reform, alternative dispute resolution, Gender-Based Violence Courts, outreach activities, activities to reduce the number of awaiting trial prisoners and speed up criminal and civil trials, and enhanced monitoring and evaluation.
